Welcome Message from Mr Rhodes – Headteacher

I am proud to be the Headteacher of The John of Gaunt School. 

It is a unique, vibrant and highly successful school with a strong reputation for academic excellence, personalised pastoral support and our extensive extra-curricular provision.

Students are at the core of all that we do. We strive for the academic success of all our students, within a nurturing and safe environment, based on our core values of ‘Kindness, Positivity and Belonging’.

We expect our students to demonstrate ‘Excellence Every Day’.

The learning experience of our students is rich in encouragement, enthusiasm and a belief in every individual. Helping our young people develop into accomplished independent learners, as well as confident, sensitive and reflective adults, is fundamental.

Through outstanding teaching, we provide a broad and aspirational curriculum and a thriving extra-curricular programme that allows our young people to meet or exceed their potential.

We pride ourselves on being a community academy. We have open and strong relationships with parents and carers with a common goal of student success and happiness. We are a core member of the local schools’ partnership, and work closely with all our partner schools, leading on various programmes to ensure the best educational provision for our young people in Trowbridge. We are also proud of our established and growing links with local businesses and community organisations, who add tremendous value to the development of our young people.
