Welcome from the CEO of EQUA Mead Learning Trust

The John of Gaunt School is proud to be part of EQUA Mead Learning Trust, a family of 22 schools committed to ensuring every child receives the very best education from their earliest years through to Post 16.

Many of our local primary schools are also part of the Trust, creating a seamless educational journey built on shared values, high expectations and a common approach to teaching, learning and curriculum design.

This close collaboration means that children joining The John of Gaunt School are already familiar with many of the approaches they will experience in secondary school.

Our staff work closely with colleagues across our primary schools to ensure transition is carefully planned, learning builds naturally on prior experiences and every child is given the very best opportunity to thrive from their first day with us.

We believe all children and young people have the right to a great education and we seek to improve the life chances of all those we serve; it is our mission to give ‘Every Child, Every Chance’ of success. Across our Trust, we want our children and young people to be inspired by their learning, and to instil in them a motivation and aspiration to succeed in all they do.
