Year 10 Review

We are so proud of all of Year 10’s achievements this year. They have taken to their GCSE studies with such determination and hard work.

It has been a real pleasure to see all the students maturing into their work as the year has gone on and overall, they have set themselves up so well for going into the final year of their GCSE’s.

This term they have sat their first mock exams and taken part in their English-speaking exams. Many members of staff went out to of their way to say how impressed they with Year 10s attitudes towards the process and for their preparation.

During the course of the year members of our year group have been involved in so many activities and events including: Our 2 successful 10 Tors Teams whose dedication to training in the lead up to the competition as well as their performance on the weekend was excellent.

Our students taking part in the Duke of Edinburgh award, again have worked so hard in their preparation for their expedition weekend. They battled the elements the best could, showed real resilience in the face of awful weather and I know they were disappointed that they could not complete the weekend.

Over 120 of our students were successful in securing work experience placements this year which is a real achievement. These placements range from working in local primary schools, Selwood housing association, Trowbridge Rugby Club and Rolls-Royce PLC. Well done to all of our students on placement, we really glad you have been able to take advantage with this opportunity.

There have been so many trips which our students have been part of including: a University Visit to Bath Spa, a Theatre visit to see An Inspector Calls which is a GCSE English text and a week-long netball trip to Spain over summer half-term where our students were excellent ambassadors for the school.

We are saying goodbye to Mrs Johnson as co-tutor for 10D, and we wish her all the best, we welcome Mrs Littleworth who with be joining Ms Clare. Another welcome goes to Mr Carter who has already joined 10H this term.

We wish all of you a restful and happy summer.

The Year 10 Team.
